Raise the Nation
Raise the nation has started a new application process which aims to help students in receiving higher grant and scholarship awards for their studies. The Boards of Directors have developed a score based selection system where by grants and scholarships are delivered. The scoring system rewards applicants who have shown impressive progress in personal development, leadership skills, and academic achievements. Your G.P.A. is not requested as a requirement in the application process. Our hope is that these changes we have applied will help single parents and their children.
Student Loan Repayment Grant
This is a special loan repayment grant for those working single parent women who put their efforts in helping the community but currently carry student loan debt. This program awards women who continue to volunteer in community work. In order to qualify for consideration in this program, a working woman must volunteer their professional services for an average of 8 hours a month with the period of time being determined by the amount of their student loan debt. The program realizes that women who are in the helping profession or work as teachers are already contributing to their community; hence they need not put extra efforts in serving the community. The community service time frames will be decided upon once you receive the award amount.
Scholarship for Further Education
The single parent women who couldn’t complete their education in their due time can continue with their studies with the help of this scholarship. Many single parents are denied of educational resources, grants, and assistance until they reach the point of crisis and poverty until the time they are forced to take out student loans to pay for living expenses and tuition. These loans generally get very difficult to pay off when the average national income in the U.S. is $27,500 a year. This program awards single parent women who want to lift up their standard of living and that of their kids by furthering their education and advancing their careers. In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must be already enrolled in a higher education course of study or accepted into a post-secondary school.
Child of a Single Parent Woman Scholarship
This scholarship is planned to decrease the financial load of payment for college of a single parent woman student when they still assert their kids as dependent on their taxes. This program is familiar with the challenge of children of single parent women being offered negligible amounts of financial assistance due to the computation being dependent on their mother's income.
If you are the kin of a single parent woman and currently working towards a post-secondary degree then you may qualify for this scholarship. One last requirement of this program is that you must be a dependent of your Mother and under 24 years of age in order to qualify.
